The Republican candidate for Ohio Secretary of State, Frank LaRose, will speak at the Akron Press Club Monday, March 19, at the Tangier in Akron. There will be the opportunity for questions from the audience.
This event is co-sponsored with The University of Akron’s Ray C. Bliss Institute of Applied Politics and the City Club of Cleveland.
LaRose currently represents Ohio’s 27th Senate district, which includes portions of Summit and Stark counties as well as all of Wayne County.
LaRose grew up in Copley Township, where he graduated from Copley High School. LaRose joined the Army, serving in the 101st Airborne Division and later in the U.S. Special Forces (Green Berets). He received a Bronze Star for his service as a sergeant first class in Iraq. Following his service, LaRose graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in consumer affairs and a business administration minor.
LaRose ran for the Ohio Senate in 2010 and was re-elected in 2014.
LaRose is a board member of the Ohio Historical Society, junior vice commander of the Fairlawn Veterans of Foreign War; and a member of the executive board for the Great Trail Council, Boy Scouts of America.
