The annual Akron Press Club book sale will be Saturday, Nov. 14 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Quaker Station on the campus of the University of Akron. The sale provides a wonderful opportunity to buy new and gently used books, audio books, music CDs and movie DVDs. Most items are priced at $5 or less. Proceeds from the annual book sale funds scholarships for local journalism, public relations and communications students. More than $300,000 in scholarships have been awarded through the years. Donations for the book sale are welcome. Anyone who wishes to contribute should contact Ron Syroid at RLSYROID@gmail.com or 330-607-6811. Books may also be dropped off from 2 p.m. till 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13 at Quaker Station. Details Event: Annual book sale. The group has a rich heritage of offering newsmakers a forum to discuss issues of the day at Press Club luncheons and speaking events that are open to the public.
