Democratic candidate for Ohio Secretary of State Kathleen Clyde will speak at the Akron Press Club Monday, April 9, at the Tangier in Akron. There will be the opportunity for questions from the audience. This event is co-sponsored with The University of Akron’s Ray C. Bliss Institute of Applied Politics and the City Club of Cleveland. Clyde represents the 75th Ohio House district, which covers portions of Portage County. She first was elected to the seat in 2010. A native of Garrettsville who graduated from James A. Garfield High School, Clyde received a bachelor’s in English from Wesleyan University in Connecticut and her J.D. from The Ohio State University in 2008. While in law school, she was an editor of the law review, president of the Public Interest Law Foundation, and a student researcher and analyst at OSU’s Election Law Center. She was a law clerk for the Ohio Secretary of State and the Ohio Senate and had a fellowship at the Brennan Center for Justice at New York University for the study of election law.   Speaker: Democratic candidate for Ohio Secretary of State Kathleen Clyde.
