Superintendent Christine Fowler Mack will discuss the state of Akron Public Schools at the Akron Press Club Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Quaker Station in Akron. There will be the opportunity for questions following the program.

Born in Akron and educated in Akron Public Schools, Christine Fowler Mack is an experienced school district leader whose first classroom experience was in the APS system as a teacher at Robinson Elementary School from 1989-95. Following that, Fowler Mack was a student dean and teacher leader for two years in APS.
Immediately before joining APS, Fowler Mack was responsible for overseeing school accountability, portfolio management, and community engagement functions as chief portfolio officer at Cleveland Metropolitan School District (40,000 students).
Christine is on the board of Summit Education Initiative, the University of Akron Board of Trustees, Project GRAD Board, Greater Akron Chamber Board and the board of United Way of Summit & Medina.

Reservation deadline: Noon, Friday, October 28, 2022. Cancellations: Cancellation requests must be received no later than 48 hours before the event. After that time, there will be no refunds and an invoice will be issued for payment.
Proceeds from Akron Press Club events fund scholarships for journalism and public relations students. Between the Press Club and the John S. Knight Memorial Scholarship Fund, scholarships of $5,000 were awarded to 10 students in 2022.
The Press Club sincerely thanks Summit County for its generous donation to our scholarship fund. One of our scholarships is named in honor of the late County Executive Russ Pry. Russ was a supporter of the Press Club through his annual State of the County speech. Current Executive Ilene Shapiro continues that tradition.
