The Akron Press Club is pleased to host the two candidates for Ohio’s 13th Congressional District this October.
On Tuesday, Oct. 13, Carey Coleman will speak about his campaign, priorities and vision for the district.
Coleman, a Republican, is running for the U.S. House in Ohio’s 13th Congressional District. Coleman is a longtime Northeast Ohio radio host and former TV meteorologist.
The Akron Press Club events provide an opportunity for members of the community to hear directly from the candidates about their campaigns, priorities and views on issues affecting the district.
Proceeds from Akron Press Club events fund scholarships for journalism and public relations students. Between the Press Club and the John S. Knight Memorial Scholarship Fund, scholarships of $5,000 were awarded to 11 students in 2026. The Press Club sincerely thanks Summit County, Dr. Aileen Thong, Elizabeth Bartz and Bruce Winges for their donations to the scholarship fund.
The events will be co-sponsored by Ideastream Public Media, Signal Akron and the Akron Beacon Journal.

Date: Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026. Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. Speech will begin at noon.
Place: The East End (formerly Goodyear Hall) - 1201 E. Market St., Second Floor, Akron, OH.
Cost: $35 per individual; $280 for a table of 8.
