This November, residents of Ohio House District 31 will choose their next state representative. For the first time since 2019, it’s an open seat, as incumbent Rep. Bill Roemer has decided not to seek re-election.
Hear directly from the candidates about their views and the important issues facing the district in a debate hosted by the Akron Press Club.
The event featuring Democratic candidate J. Noah Spinner and Republican candidate Mike Kahoe will take place on Monday, Oct. 5, at The East End, 1201 E. Market St., Akron 44305.
The debate is being hosted by the Akron Press Club and is co-sponsored by the Akron Beacon Journal.
During the debate, the candidates will field questions posed by moderator Dr. J. Cherie Strachan, director of the Bliss Institute of Applied Politics at the University of Akron.
The 31st District includes much of Summit County, including Norton, Barberton, Copley, Fairlawn, Richfield, Peninsula and Cuyahoga Falls.
